Nagle wszystko zaczęło nabierać sensu. Peter przemówił drżącym głosem, a jego słowa odbiły się echem od zimnych, wilgotnych ścian studni: “Niedźwiedź mógł nas tu przyprowadzić celowo. Wygląda na to, że chciał, żebyśmy odnaleźli te uwięzione stworzenia.” Hanna wpatrywała się w mrok, gdy słaby snop światła latarki Petera rzucał przerażające, nieregularne cienie na ściany. Jej serce przyspieszyło, kiedy zauważyła ruch w ciemności – drobne sylwetki o świecących oczach, odbijających światło. Jedno było pewne – to na pewno nie były małe niedźwiedzie. Głos Petera wyrwał ją z zamyślenia, pełen zaniepokojenia: “Pamiętasz tego w szpitalu? Był ranny, prawda? Te tutaj mogą być w podobnych tarapatach. Spadły do środka i nie potrafią się wydostać.” Peter spojrzał na Hannę z determinacją: “Nie możemy ich tak zostawić.”
