GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST EN MARIEKE WOLSERS – EEN RELATIE SINDS 1994
Giovanni van Bronckhorst, na het doorlopen van de jeugdopleiding bij Feyenoord en zijn debuut bij dezelfde club, verloor zijn hart aan Marieke Wolsers. Hun leven, aanvankelijk in Nederland, verplaatste zich naar Schotland als gevolg van Giovanni’s professionele loopbaan. Aan het begin van het nieuwe millennium bezegelden zij hun liefde met een huwelijk. Marieke was altijd een constante factor; zij deelde in de successen en verzachtte de teleurstellingen. Hun liefde werd bekroond met twee zonen, die de voetbalpassie van hun vader lijken te erven. Hoewel Giovanni zijn voetbalschoenen inmiddels heeft opgeborgen, blijft hij verbonden aan de sport als een toegewijd coach, met de onvoorwaardelijke steun van Marieke aan zijn zijde.
