Dustin Hoffman – Tootsie
In the movie Tootsie, Dustin Hoffman plays the role of Michael Dorsey, an unsuccessful and difficult actor who ends up disguising himself as Dorothy Michaels in order to get a role on a trashy hospital-themed soap opera. Dustin had to watch the previously mentioned La Cage Aux Folles several times.
Furthermore, he also visited the sets of already existing soap operas and making extensive research and makeup tests. He was, however, shocked that even though he managed to pass as a woman, he would never pass as a beautiful one. Sometimes, you just can’t have everything.
