Eddie Redmayne – The Danish Girl
Eddie Redmayne had the challenging task of portraying Lili Elbe, the first transgender woman who went under a doctor’s knife in order to fully transition to a female. Redmayne’s portrayal was so moving and realistic that it earned him an Academy Award nomination for his performance.
This was after having won the award the prior year for his role as Stephen Hawkins on The Theory of Everything. Eddie showed his versatility by opting for a totally different role as Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which stems from the Harry Potter universe.
