The Birdcage was a remake of a French full movie that was a hit in the ’70s. Here, Gene Hackman played a conservative senator who would put his political views in front of his family. Considering that his daughter was going to marry a drag queen’s son, things became complicated.

However, due to hilarious events that take place, Hackman’s character would end up accepting the union. In order to escape from some irritating paparazzi, his character actually had to get in drag himself! The scene certainly had some obvious comedy and the movie was a success.
