Włodzimierz Lubański – emerytowany polski piłkarz, wartość rynkowa 20 mln zł
Lubański rozpoczął swoją przygodę piłkarską w klubie Sośnica z Gliwic ale reprezentował też barwy kilku innych klubów na ŚląskuW swojej karierze piłkarskiej zagrzał też miejsce w klubach takich, jak Valenciennes FC czy KRC Mechelen. Był zawodnikiem reprezentacji polski podczas zdobycia mistrzostwa olimpijskiego w pamiętnym dla Polaków 1972 roku. Był także uczestnikiem mistrzostw świata sześć lat później. Był najmłodszym zawodnikiem i strzelcem reprezentacji Polski (w wieku jedynie 16 lat), jak również dzięki zdobyciu 48 bramek, drugim najskuteczniejszym strzelcem w historii.
Po przejściu na piłkarską emeryturę pozostał w Belgii, gdzie ukończył Szkołę Trenerów. W Belgii mieszka do dziś. Pełnił rolę doradcy trenera Engela. Zyskał miano najwybitniejszego polskiego piłkarza 50-lecia UEFA w 2003 roku[1]. O Włodzimierzu Lubańskim powstało kilka książek, co świadczy o jego roli w polskim sporcie.
