Laverne Cox – Born in 1972
Playing the part of Sophia Burset on the ‘Netflix’ show ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ actress Laverne Cox became well-known. She was also a debut season contestant on the reality TV show ‘I Want to Work for Diddy’ that aired on ‘VH1,’ and was the cohost and coproducer of ‘TRANSform Me,’ a makeover TV show, also on ‘VH1.’
Laverne was the first openly transgender individual to be placed on ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine’s cover, when she appeared on the South African February 2018 issue. She has always advocated for people to be their real gorgeous selves; hence, in late 2015, she proudly posed for this fresh-faced selfie.
