Podczas całej wędrówki za dzikim zwierzęciem Hanna nie rozłączała się z Peterem, trzymając telefon przy uchu. Peter przestrzegł ją, a jego głos drżał od niepokoju: “Hanna, wiem, że chcesz pomóc, ale proszę, zachowaj ostrożność.” Po chwili, jeszcze bardziej zaniepokojony, dodał: “Dzikie zwierzęta są nieprzewidywalne. To może być naprawdę niebezpieczne.” Jego słowa zawisły w ciężkim, wilgotnym powietrzu lasu, przebijając ciszę, którą przerywał jedynie szelest liści i odległe pohukiwania sów. Mimo to Hanna czuła silną potrzebę, by iść dalej, rozdarta między troską Petera a własnym przeczuciem, że nie może się zatrzymać. Wahała się przez chwilę, po czym wysłała mu swoją lokalizację. Jednak z każdą kolejną minutą napięcie i poczucie nieuchronności tylko narastały.
