Niedźwiedź wydawał się rozumieć Hannę. Jego groźne warczenie przeszło w niespokojne pomruki, a napięte dotąd mięśnie zaczęły się rozluźniać. Bezpośrednie niebezpieczeństwo minęło i Hanna mogła w końcu zaczerpnąć głębszego oddechu. W powietrzu unosił się sterylny, szpitalny zapach, który mieszał się teraz z narastającą w niej determinacją, by działać. Wymknęła się z pokoju i popędziła przez szpitalne korytarze, jej serce waliło jak oszalałe. W budynku zapanował chaos – ludzie w panice rozglądali się za schronieniem, a na każdej twarzy malował się strach. W końcu Hanna dostrzegła grupę lekarzy zgromadzonych w jednym z pomieszczeń. Bez chwili wahania podeszła do nich, a jej głos, pełen desperacji, przerwał ogólną panikę: “Musimy mu pomóc!”
