In Amish communities, love isn’t restricted by arranged marriages or family matchmaking. Young Amish are free to find their partners, dating much like anyone else and building relationships based on genuine connection. At 18, they face a significant choice: whether or not to be baptized into the church.
This decision shapes their future, as only those within the Amish church can marry each other. So while they’re free to choose a partner, their options are bound by faith—no marrying outside the community, no matter the spark. For the Amish, love thrives within the values of their culture, balancing personal choice with community ties.
