When Roughing It Goes Wrong, and Nature Takes Revenge

Peek-a-Boo with a Bear

Caught in a candid moment, a big brown bear becomes an unexpected guest at a campsite, peering into an open tent with nobody home. It’s a scene straight out of a nature comedy as the bear searches for food. Bears, especially the brown ones, have a powerful sense of smell, about seven times stronger than a bloodhound’s.

This often leads them to investigate campsites, enticed by the scent of meals or snacks. Brown bears, although massive and imposing, are generally omnivorous and curious creatures, and this furry visitor is no exception. Just store food and dispose of trash properly to keep these wild wanderers at bay.
