August Diehl hatte seinen phänomenalen Durchbruch im deutschsprachigen Raum in den 1990er Jahren. Er überzeugte in der Produktion „23 – Nichts ist so wie es scheint“ und konnte sich dafür über eine Auszeichnung mit dem Deutschen Filmpreis freuen. Danach bekam er etliche Angebote für Rollen im Film und im Fernsehen.
Aber auch als Theaterschauspieler ist August Diehl stets present. Internationale Aufmerksamkeit erlangte er durch seine Rolle in dem Blockbuster „Inglorious Bastards“. Und seitdem hat er auch in Hollywood einen Namen. Es folgten weitere große Produktionen, wie zum Beispiel „Salt“ mit Angelina Jolie. Sein geschätztes Vermögen beläuft sich auf 2 Millionen Euro.
