Gerade als Marian ihre Einkäufe anheben wollte, um in den Zug zu steigen, spürte sie eine sanfte Berührung auf ihrer Schulter. Erschrocken drehte sie sich um und sah direkt in das Gesicht der Frau, die sie zuvor beobachtet hatte – immer noch in ihrem eleganten Anzug.

Marians Herz setzte einen Schlag aus, und vor lauter Schreck ließ sie sogar ihre Einkaufstüten fallen. Orangen, Saftkartons und allerlei andere Gegenstände rollten über den Bahnsteig. Als Marian schließlich den Blick hob und in die Augen der Frau sah, überkam sie ein Gefühl, das sie bis dahin nicht gekannt hatte: echte, greifbare Angst.
