Der Ballast der Vergangenheit
Für Lexi war es eine große Herausforderung, ihre alten, ungesunden Angewohnheiten hinter sich zu lassen. Schon als Kind war sie daran gewöhnt, dass fettiges und günstiges Essen den Alltag ihrer Familie bestimmte. Sie sagte, dass frische, gesunde Lebensmittel oft einfach zu teuer waren, sodass Fertigprodukte die erste Wahl blieben.
Mit Danny war es nicht anders: Auch er hatte es sich zur Gewohnheit gemacht, nicht auf seine Ernährung zu achten. Essen gehen war eines ihrer liebsten Freizeitvergnügen, und auch zu Hause war Essen ein ständiger Begleiter. Fernsehen und Snacks bildeten das Zentrum ihrer Freizeit. Essen wurde für Lexi eine Art Bewältigungsstrategie.
