Ein Leben im Kampf gegen die Pfunde
Für Lexi Reed waren Gewichtsprobleme kein neues Thema – im Gegenteil, sie wuchs quasi damit auf. Schon in ihrer Jugend versuchte sie immer wieder, die Kilos loszuwerden. Doch der berüchtigte Jo-Jo-Effekt ließ ihre Bemühungen meist im Sand verlaufen. Sie verlor einige Pfunde, nur um bald darauf noch mehr zuzulegen.
Trotz allem ließ Lexi sich nicht unterkriegen: Mit ihrem optimistischen Wesen ließ sie sich den Spaß am Leben nicht nehmen, auch wenn sie durch ihr Übergewicht eingeschränkt war. Doch mit Mitte 20 begriff sie den Ernst der Lage. Die Waage zeigte mittlerweile 178 Kilogramm an, und Lexi fühlte sich immer unwohler.
