Polly Samson & David Gilmour – 26 Years
When writer Polly Samson met husband, David Gilmour, a former rock band member of Pink Floyd, she was a lyricist, called in to help pen the words to the band’s song, ‘The Division Bell.’ Samson requested not to have her name included in the song’s credits.
Gilmour thought it would be unfair to disregard her contribution, therefore going against her request, he credited her for the song. Looking back, Samson is thankful that he did. She might love him, but the songwriter loathes the fact that her success is attributed to the rock-star, regardless of the sacrifices she had to make, to have the prosperity she enjoys today.
