Jimmy Carter – Age 94
Georgia-born Jimmy Carter served in the Navy, working on submarines. While several US presidents had law degrees, Carter was different. His upbringing resulted in his opposition to racial segregation in his daily life, encouraging him to become a Civil Rights Movement activist.
In 1977, he was sworn in as President and he enforced several changes, like the establishment of departments for education and energy. After giving up his political career Carter dived right into lending his efforts to charitable causes and he still champions for Civil Rights through the Carter Center.
