Hanna Schygulla to popularna niemiecka aktorka obecna na scenie od ponad 60 lat. W wieku 78 lat wciąż angażuje się w rozmaite projekty artystyczne. Jej kariera rozpoczęła się od roli śpiewaczki kabaretowej, ale szybko ugruntowała swoją pozycję jako aktorki. Jest znana ze współpracy z niemieckim reżyserem Rainerem Wernerem Fassbinderem, z którym współpracowała przy aż 15 filmach.
Rola Marii Braun w filmie “Wesele” przyniosła jej uznanie na całym świecie oraz docenienie w postaci nagród w branży filmowej. Schygulla jest uważana za jedną z najlepszych aktorek w Europie. W ostatnim okresie wzięła udział w filmie “Jeune & Jolie”, gdzie zagrała u boku Marine Vacth. W 2015 roku zagrała w świetnej komedii “Toni Erdmann”.
