Bob Newhart es bien conocido por su humor inexpresivo, convirtiéndose en uno de los comediantes más disfrutados de Estados Unidos. Sus álbumes de comedia top de la lista Billboard se vendieron con mucho éxito y más tarde tuvo dos exitosas comedias que lo mantuvieron ocupado. Desafortunadamente, el habito de fumar de toda su vida lo atrapó y sufrió de mala salud, pero nadie tuvo que llamar al abogado de muertes. El viejo buen Bob se recuperó y dejó el hábito.
Newhart se jacta de haber depositado en su banco un total de 25 millones de dólares a lo largo de su carrera. Hace poco hizo una aparición en la recién concluida serie de comedia The Big Bang Theory.
