Although not that controversial back then, Pam Grier played a series of roles in blaxploitation and women in prison films. But thanks to her natural acting skills, she was an easy choice for a lot of directors in the ’70s. Then, Tarantino came along and gave her a shot at Jackie Brown. Unlike several actors who took law degrees, Grier has an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Langston University.
