Schon im Jahre 1972 als sie gerade mal 10 Jahre alt war begann die Karriere von Melissa Sue Anderson, einer Schauspielerin mit kanadischen und amerikanischen Wurzeln. Die Rolle die ihr zum Durchbruch verholfen hat war in Little House On The Prairie als Mary Ingalls, was ihr auch zu einer Nominierung für den Emmy verholfen hat.
Sie konnte den Emmy aber noch nicht ihr Eigen nennen, da sie diesen erst mit ihrer Rolle in Which Mother Is Mine? Bekam. Mit 28 Jahren entschied sie sich dazu Michael Sloan, ein Autor und Produzent, zu heiraten und hat heute, mit stolzen 57 Jahren, zwei Kinder und ein Konto mit satten 1,5$ Millionen!
