Uno de los compañeros de trabajo más cercanos de Smith, Ethan Suplee, también ha luchado contra la obesidad a lo largo de los años. De hecho, como ambos tenían sobrepeso, hicieron una apuesta para ver quién perdía más peso. Ethan se tomó el desafío más seriamente, perdiendo 200 libras en el proceso.
Y aunque algunos pueden suponer que usó su fortuna para pasar por el bisturí, afirmó con confianza que todo lo que se necesitaba era un plan de comidas saludables y ejercicio riguroso de manera regular. Aunque parece que Suplee ha estado luchando por mantener todo el peso que perdió en los últimos tiempos.
