Joan Collins is begonnen met acteren op haar negende. Vandaag de dag is ze een erg bekende en populaire Engelse actrice. Ze heeft aan The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art gestudeerd in London, waarna ze verhuisde naar Hollywood in 1955. Collins had diverse rollen in zowel Groot Brittanië als de Verenigde Staten.
Ze was erg succesvol in het horror genre gedurende de jaren 70’. Eind jaren 70’ had ze de hoofdrol in een aantal erotische films geschreven door haar zus. Collins werd door koningin Elizabeth II geridderd tot Dame voor haar liefdadigheidswerk en heeft haar tot Officer of the Order of the British Empire benoemd voor haar acteerwerk.
