Tereny należące do Marcela cieszyły się ogromnym zainteresowaniem inwestorów, którzy byli skłonni zapłacić fortunę za możliwość budowy luksusowych kurortów na jego ziemi. On jednak konsekwentnie odrzucał wszystkie oferty, uważając, że bardziej opłacalne jest dla niego dalsze wynajmowanie posiadanych nieruchomości. Z biegiem lat wartość jego działek systematycznie wzrastała, co sprawiło, że Marcel znalazł się w gronie najzamożniejszych mieszkańców regionu. Pomimo imponującego majątku, jego bliscy zaczęli martwić się o jego przyszłość. Marcel z wiekiem coraz bardziej odczuwał samotność, a wciąż nie znalazł kobiety, z którą mógłby zbudować trwałą relację.
