De tels incidents sont plus probables dans certains des endroits les plus venteux d’Amérique, comme le Mont Washington dans le New Hampshire, connu pour ses vents extrêmes, ou les plaines du Midwest, où les rafales peuvent être étonnamment fortes. Monter une tente dans de telles conditions nécessite patience, compétence et souvent un peu de chance.
