Tom Baker, renowned for his portrayal of the fourth Doctor in the iconic British series “Doctor Who,” owns a historic house in Shropshire. Known as Lower House, located in the village of Hopton Castle, this residence dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Acquired by Tom and his wife Eileen, the house overlooks a medieval tower house that they were instrumental in preserving.
The property features half-timbered construction and is connected to English Civil War history, having been the site of a notable siege. Tom spearheaded the efforts to preserve the nearby tower house, which was recognized with a Heritage Lottery grant exceeding £1 million.
