John Cleese, the legendary British comedian and actor known for his work with the Monty Python comedy troupe and the classic TV series “Fawlty Towers,” once owned a grand estate in Montecito, California. Also known as Stalloreggi, it boasted a Mediterranean-style main house with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, a horse barn, dressage rings, and multiple two-bedroom apartments, one of which served as a writing studio.
The estate also featured exquisite landscapes with links to riding trails in Romero Canyon and access to the Pacific Ocean. John had always expressed his love for Montecito due to its tranquil environment and rich cultural offerings, from great restaurants to music and art.
