Outrageous Celebrity Homes That’ll Make You Hate Your Apartment Even More!
J.K. Rowling – Edinburgh, £2 Million
In 2009, J.K. Rowling, the celebrated author of the “Harry Potter” series, acquired a stunning 17th-century mansion in Edinburgh’s affluent Barnton area for £2 million. This historic property, known as The Whitehouse, boasts eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and expansive gardens, offering a blend of timeless elegance and modern luxury.
The mansion’s rich history and architectural grandeur make it a fitting residence for the literary icon. In 2022, J.K. undertook significant renovations, including trimming the property’s massive hedge, which necessitated the temporary closure of Whitehouse Road to ensure the work was completed safely. This attention to detail reflects her commitment to preserving the estate’s beauty and heritage.
