Rihanna maakte indruk toen ze de rode loper opstapte tijdens het 2017 Met Gala. Bekend om hits als “Umbrella” en “Diamonds” en haar gedurfde uitstapjes naar mode en beauty met haar merken, is ze net zo goed een zakenmogol als een hitlijsttopper. Tijdens het evenement belichaamde ze het thema met een complex bloemenensemble dat net zo goed een sculpturaal stuk was als een kledingstuk.
Met lagen bloemachtige stofuitsparingen in een mix van patronen speelde de outfit met structuur en vorm op een onvoorspelbare en opvallende manier. Haar ensemble schreef Met Gala geschiedenis als een van de meest memorabele interpretaties van het avant-gardistische thema van de avond.
