Balancing Their Growth
During adolescence, a rather unique event occurred when Abby grew taller while Brittany’s growth slowed. This imbalance caused severe strain on their spine and made walking more difficult. Doctors warned that scoliosis and pain could worsen if the problem were not treated. The situation worried the entire Hensel family.
After long talks with specialists, surgery was chosen to stop Abby’s growth. The procedure was successful, providing the sisters with greater stability and improved mobility. Walking and daily movement improved, bringing relief to them and their parents. The operation showed once again that the twins could face challenges directly and keep moving forward with determination.
