Thomas Häßler war zu seinen aktiven Zeiten ein erfolgreicher Fußballspieler und war zum Beispiel am Sieg der Weltmeisterschaft im Jahr 1990 und am Sieg der Europameisterschaft im Jahr 1996 beteiligt. So konnte er sich ein Vermögen von rund 4 Millionen Euro aufbauen.
Im Anschluss an seine aktive Karriere begann der gebürtige Berliner als Fußballtrainer zu arbeiten und trainierte Mannschaften wie den 1. FC Köln, die Nationalmannschaft von Nigeria und heute den BFC Preussen. Auch im Fernsehen ist er aktiv und wagte sich zu „Let´s dance“ und in die 11. Staffel von „Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus“.
