Ein faszinierendes Foto zeigt einen Falken bei der Jagd. Der Greifvogel hat gerade ein Eichhörnchen erbeutet und hebt mit seiner Mahlzeit ab. Die Aufnahme fängt den Moment ein, in dem der Falke triumphierend seine Beute in den Krallen hält. Für das Eichhörnchen war es ein aussichtsloser Kampf gegen einen der schnellsten Jäger der Lüfte. Mit Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 350 km/h im Sturzflug hatte der Nager keine Chance zu entkommen.
Die Natur zeigt sich hier von ihrer rauen Seite. Der Falke sichert sich sein Überleben, während das Eichhörnchen zum Opfer wird. Solche Szenen spielen sich täglich in der Wildnis ab, meist unbemerkt von menschlichen Augen.
