Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain – 2 years
While she has had a long musical career in her own right, rocker Courtney Love first found fame when she became attached to Nirvana singer and songwriter Kurt Cobain. The two Pacific Northwest natives first met in Portland and struck up a romance that culminated in marriage and the birth of a daughter, Frances Bean. Sadly, Cobain committed suicide in April 1994, just a few days after prematurely leaving a drug abuse rehab center.
Love, who had struggled with addiction herself, completed a few trips to luxury drug rehab after Kurt’s death before getting sober in 2007.
