Hollywood’s beloved director and former child star Ron Howard met his lifelong partner Cheryl Alley in the hallways of high school in Burbank, California, in 1970. Their very first date—pizza and a movie—set the stage for a love story that would endure decades.
By 1975, they were saying “I do,” kicking off a marriage that has seen four kids, including actress Bryce Dallas Howard, twins Jocelyn and Paige, and son Reed. Cheryl, a writer, often sneaks into Ron’s films in cameo roles, a fun little Easter egg for fans. Their secret? The filmmaker credits his wife as the rock in his life.
