When Denzel Washington met Pauletta Pearson on the set of “Wilma” in 1977, sparks didn’t just fly—they blazed. After a few run-ins and some persistence on HIS part (three proposals, to be exact!), she finally said yes. They married on June 25, 1983, starting a journey that’s seen them become one of Hollywood’s strongest couples.
The duo has raised four children: John David, a successful actor; Katia; and twins Olivia and Malcolm. In 1995, they renewed their vows in South Africa, with Archbishop Desmond Tutu officiating. From red carpets to family movie nights, Denzel and Pauletta have kept their connection as strong as ever.
