Mantenere una carriera di attrice attiva per così tanti anni deve essere dura, soprattutto dovendo crescere due figli. Michelle Pfeiffer ha adottato la sua prima figlia Claudia Rose nel 1993, proprio quando ha iniziato la sua relazione con David E. Kelly.
Un anno dopo hanno avuto un figlio, David, però nessuno dei loro figli sembra aver sviluppato un interesse verso la recitazione fino ad ora, anche se potrebbero tranquillamente farlo.
