Uno de los compañeros de trabajo más cercanos de Smith, Ethan Suplee, también ha luchado contra la obesidad a lo largo de los años. De hecho, como ambos tenían sobrepeso, hicieron una apuesta para ver quién perdía más peso. Ethan se tomó el desafío más seriamente, perdiendo 200 libras en el proceso.
