Después de ser rechazado inicialmente para el papel de Scott Hatteberg en la película Moneyball por ser demasiado pesado, Pratt estaba decidido a ganar el papel, por lo que pasó muchos días en el gimnasio y finalmente logro rebajar 30 libras. Le envió al director de casting una foto de como lucia después de todo su esfuerzo por perder peso y le dieron el papel inmediatamente.
A Pratt le gustó tanto su nuevo aspecto que siguió desarrollando músculo, convirtiéndose en el machote de Hollywood que ahora conocemos y amamos. Después de esto no creemos que vaya a volver a sus días de gordito.
