“Dit is toch wel absurd,” verzuchtte Cora, terwijl zij naar haar tas reikte. “Ik heb nota bene voor deze zitplaats betaald!” Zij begon koortsachtig naar haar instapkaart te zoeken, het bewijs van haar recht op deze plaats. Echter, hoe grondig zij ook in haar tas zocht, het kleine kartonnen kaartje bleek spoorloos verdwenen. Cora voelde een golf van paniek opkomen. Zij wist zeker dat zij het bij het instappen in haar hand had gehad. Waar kon het in vredesnaam zijn gebleven? Terwijl zij haar tas bleef doorzoeken, begon zij zich af te vragen of er wellicht sprake was van een bewuste actie.
