Sofie draaide zich met een vastberaden blik naar de bemanning. “Wie van jullie heeft mijn moeder op deze wijze behandeld?” vroeg zij met een scherpe intonatie. De stilte in de cabine was bijna voelbaar, totdat alle ogen zich richtten op de onvriendelijke stewardess. Sofie liet geen ruimte voor discussie. “Je kunt je persoonlijke bezittingen verzamelen en dit vliegtuig verlaten,” sprak zij koel maar resoluut. De stewardess opende haar mond om te protesteren, maar Sofie hief haar hand ten teken van stilte. “Ik wens geen excuses te vernemen. Het is overduidelijk wat er is voorgevallen.”
