Purtroppo la notizia della scomparsa dell’amato cantautore siciliano Franco Battiato, ha lasciato tutti senza parole. Da anni si parlava di una sua malattia, che lo stava letteralmente consumando. Il Maestro, nonostante l’enorme successo ottenuto durante la sua lunga e brillante carriera, non amava la mondanità, ma preferiva ritirarsi e trascorrere il suo tempo nell’amata e tranquilla villa in località Milo, nel catanese, dentro il Parco dell’Etna. Amava la sua Sicilia.
Villa Grazia, questo il nome della sua abitazione a cui aveva dato il nome della madre, è stata una dimora adorata dal Maestro, tanto da dedicargli anche uno dei suoi testi. Era così legato al luogo, da non volerlo lasciare neanche per incidere i suoi album. Allestì infatti una sala incisioni al suo interno. Si racconta del suo amore per la zona, al punto di aver convinto perfino il compianto Lucio Dalla, suo amico storico, ad acquistare una proprietà nelle immediate vicinanze.
