Sidney Poitier – Age 92
Sidney Poitier led the way for Bahamian-American actors. He is an international film star that went from theatre to on-screen Academy Award-winning actor. He was the first African American actor to have won the prestigious award. After his retirement from the acting scene, he went into recording an album, directing and then became a diplomat. He was granted the British knighthood and a Presidential Medal of Freedom. Poitier has been at the forefront of speaking up against racism at various events and he also lends his efforts to charitable work.
