Angela Bassett – geboren 1958
Angela Bassett hat die Rolle der Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with itübernommen und mit dieser Hauptrolle ihren Durchbruch geschafft. Für diesen Film gewann sie einenGolden Globe und wurde für einen Oscar nominiert. Doch tatsächlich hat sie Schauspielerei studiert und arbeitet seit 1985 in einer Vielzahl von Filmen und Fernsehserien. Heute produziert sie die Serie 911: Notruf L.A, in der sie selbst auch mitspielt.
Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Schauspielerin und Produzentin ist sie ehrenamtlich aktiv und unterstützt Organisationen, die kranke Kinder betreuen und solche, die in Pflegefamilien untergebracht sind, da sie selbst gemeinsam mit ihrer Schwester in einer Pflegefamilie aufwuchs.
