Angela Bassett hat die Rolle der Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with itübernommen und mit dieser Hauptrolle ihren Durchbruch geschafft. Für diesen Film gewann sie einenGolden Globe und wurde für einen Oscar nominiert. Doch tatsächlich hat sie Schauspielerei studiert und arbeitet seit 1985 in einer Vielzahl von Filmen und Fernsehserien.
