Angela Bassett – born 1958
Angela Bassett took on the role of Tina Turner in What’s Love Got to Do with It and made her breakthrough with this leading role. For this film she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar. But she actually studied acting and has worked in a variety of films and television series since 1985. Today she produces the 911: Notruf LA series , in which she also plays.
In addition to her work as an actress and producer, she is a volunteer and supports organizations that look after sick children and those who are housed in foster families, as she herself grew up in a foster family with her sister.
