Diana Rigg, die für ihre Laufbahn und gemeinnützigen Dienst mit dem Ritterorden ausgezeichnet wurde und deshalb den Titel Lady trägt, hat in einer Vielzahl von Filmen und Serien sowie Theaterstücken gespielt. Sie zählt zu den wichtigsten Schauspielern Englands.
Schon in höherem Alter hat sie nach James Bond, The Avengers und weiteren internationalen Erfolgen einen weiteren Durchbruch erlangt, als sie die Rolle der Olenna Tyrell inGame of Thronesübernahm. Nach einigen gesundheitlichen Problemen ist sie wieder aktiv als Schauspielerin und hat im Jahr 2017 noch in einer Fernsehserie mitgewirkt. Ihre Tochter Rachael tritt auch in ihre Fußstapfen und widmet sich der Schauspielerei.
