Australische Streitkräfte: Frauen an der Front
Australien ist bekannt für seinen hohen Lebensstandard, atemberaubende Landschaften so weit das Auge reicht und freundliche Bevölkerung. Obwohl Kriege keine große Rolle in der Geschichte des Landes gespielt haben, hat Australien eine beträchtliche Armee mit 28.000 Reservisten und etwa 59.000 aktiven Soldaten. Wer hätte das erwartet?
Seit über einem Jahrhundert dienen Frauen im australischen Militär, doch erst in den letzten Jahren ermöglichte das Land Frauen, gleichberechtigt an vorderster Front zu kämpfen. Seit 2020 bilden sie einen bedeutenden Teil der australischen Streitkräfte und machen mittlerweile 19,2 % der Verteidigungsreserven aus.
