Stärke und Vielfalt in Indonesiens Armee
Wer hätte das gedacht? Indonesien rühmt sich mit der größten Armee in Südostasien, bestehend aus 240.000 Soldaten. Von diesen sind laut offiziellen Angaben der TNI 10 % Frauen, die maßgeblich zur Stärkung der nationalen Verteidigung beitragen.
Die abgebildete Soldatin symbolisiert sowohl die Eleganz als auch den Mut und den patriotischen Geist Indonesiens. Früher mussten sich neue Rekrutinnen in Indonesien einem kontroversen “Zwei-Finger”-Test unterziehen, der ihre Jungfräulichkeit überprüfen sollte, um moralische Standards zu gewährleisten. Diese Praxis wurde allerdings Anfang 2021 abgeschafft, nachdem sie international kritisiert wurde. Eine längst überfällige Entscheidung!
