Con el paso del tiempo se fueron distanciando, como es normal, ya que ambos crecieron, pero siempre se mantuvieron en contacto.
Actualmente ha revivido su nombre y su fama, gracias al impacto que ha tenido la serie de Luis Miguel en el mundo donde se conoce al astro. Alejandro se dedica a sus negocios y hace poco fue noticia por haber bajado 8 kilos en cuatro meses, gracias a que comenzó a practicar yoga.
