Matthias Sammer, in den 80er und 90er Jahren als Spieler gefeiert und später als Trainer bekannt, hat eine beständige Begleiterin: Seine Frau Karin. Während er seine Karriere vorantreibt und mittlerweile als Fußballfunktionär agiert, hält Karin ihm den Rücken frei – sei es durch Haushaltsführung oder Papierkram wie die Steuererklärung. Mit dieser Aufgabenteilung haben die beiden einen Alltag geschaffen, der reibungslos funktioniert und ihm ermöglicht, sich voll auf seine Arbeit zu konzentrieren. Zusammen ziehen sie drei Kinder groß und genießen das Leben in Münchens exklusivem Stadtteil Grunewald. Hier lebt die Familie in einem stabilen Umfeld, das ihnen die nötige Balance bietet.
